So you do not have a youth race it's just side pots correct?

There will be a Barrel Race Saturday May 23rd and Sunday May 24th at the SugArena. We are looking forward to having everyone back. Please remember to practice social distancing by maintaining 6ft apart.

4-H families please read. This is a list of 4-H events that have been canceled. To Louisiana 4-H Families:

We continue to monitor the situation with COVID-19 and how it is affecting our AgCenter mission, as well as the safety of our employees, staff, and clientele. Over the past week, we have been looking broadly at the impact the virus is having on our 4-H Youth Development Program both short and long-term. We must consider and choose the health and well-being of our youth clientele and the adults who work closely with them.

It was our hope that COVID-19 would clear quickly and we could offer our 4-H programs this summer, but the impact of what we are experiencing today will have lasting effects well into the summer. As a result, the AgCenter is canceling, suspending, or switching to a virtual format the majority of 4-H summer programming. Below is a list of those affected events as of this announcement:

- 4-H Day at the Capitol – Canceled
- Lunch at the Governor’s Mansion (Leadership Boards) - Canceled
- District/Regional Horse Shows – Canceled (state show, if allowed, will not have qualifying requirements.)
- Louisiana 4-H Hall of Fame – Rescheduled for October 10, 2020
- All Grant Walker 4-H Educational Camps (Parish and LOST) – Canceled
- 4-H University – Transitioning to virtual format and will provide as many contests as possible.
- National 4-H Shooting Sports Contest – Canceled on April 2nd by national committee
- All Marsh Maneuvers Camps – Canceled
- 4-H Fashion Board New York Trip – Rescheduled to July 2021

The 4-H faculty will be in communication with the 4-H agents and parishes. We are currently working to develop and implement plans for 4-H University to continue in a virtual format.

As you can imagine, this is a decision that has not been made lightly as it impacts thousands of young people this summer. Ultimately, ensuring the health and well-being of our youth participants is our priority.
